Victorian Six Stone Rose Cut Diamond Ring
£985.00

This wonderfully romantic late Victorian ring is set with six graduated rose cut diamonds, arranged in a graceful line across the finger and nestled within an intricately worked gold setting. Each diamond has been individually cut, its softly faceted surface catching the light with the gentle, silvery shimmer so characteristic of rose cuts.

Unusually, six diamonds form the design, graduating delicately from the centre towards either side and creating a beautiful ribbon of light across the hand. While three and five stone rings are more frequently encountered, six stone examples are rather less common, lending this piece a particularly distinctive character.

The warm gold setting beautifully complements the soft glow of the antique diamonds. Rose cuts themselves enjoyed a renewed popularity towards the end of the 19th century, making them wonderfully evocative of the period in which this ring was created. There is something especially enchanting about the way these old diamonds respond to softer light. Each reveals its character slowly, glimmering and flashing as the hand moves. One can imagine these diamonds sparkling beneath gaslight or candlelight more than a century ago, each one carrying its own tiny fragment of fire.

Delicate, romantic and enduring, this is a beautiful survivor of Victorian jewellery and a token of lasting love.
