At its centre rests a split pearl, soft and lunar, held within a square frame of deep blue enamel - a colour long associated with truth, constancy, and the divine. The pearl was a gem cherished in the Victorian imagination as a symbol of honesty and fidelity. Along the shoulders, the words ‘ever true’ are inscribed in elegant medieval-style script, painted with multicoloured blue enamel. In the Victorian era, such words were chosen with intention; a ring made with a promises of loyalty and love. This heirloom piece truly embodies the Pre-Raphaelite spirit, which treasured medieval devotion, moral symbolism, and handcrafted beauty. This artistic movement was founded in 1848 by the poet and painter Dante Gabriel Rossetti.
