This enchanting mid 19th century ring is formed as a cluster of four delicate forget-me-not flowers, each beautifully composed of vibrant turquoise cabochon petals surrounding shimmering rose-cut diamond centres. This charming design is both graceful and deeply symbolic.

 

Throughout the Victorian era, the forget-me-not became one of the most cherished floral motifs in jewellery, representing enduring love, faithful remembrance, and the promise that those we hold dear are never truly forgotten. Whether exchanged between lovers, family or close friends, it served as a quiet token of affection that could be worn close every day.

 

Wonderfully preserved, this lovely ring is also illustrated in Rings 1800–1910: A Study of English and Related Designs by Verlaine Davies (2009, p.34), highlighting it as a particularly fine example of its kind. A beautiful piece of Victorian sentiment, rich in symbolism and as meaningful today as when it was first given.
