A delightful  late 19th century split pearl and enamel ring, with a design that feels like a tiny world captured in blue and gold. This ring has a beautifully domed, almost globe-like form, covered in the softest powder blue enamel. At its centre sits a luminous split pearl, set into a golden star whose sculptural points radiate out across the blue surface.

 

There is something wonderfully celestial about the design, and the pearl itself has an almost moon like quality, softly luminous against the blue.

 

Pearls have long symbolised purity, wisdom and love, while stars have traditionally represented guidance, hope and light through darkness. Together, they give this little Victorian ring a particularly romantic sentiment, like carrying your own guiding star upon the hand.
