This unusual Victorian ring is a wonderfully expressive heirloom. At its centre rests two luminous pear-shaped opal cabochons, their softly shifting play of colour alive with flashes of green, blue, and delicate rose. 


Between the opals, two dainty collet-set cushion-shaped old-cut diamonds provide points of bright clarity, their antique sparkle creating a beautiful contrast against the opals’ glow. Framing the composition, vivid royal blue enamel shoulders add a pop of colour, lending the ring an almost celestial quality; stars against waning crescent moons in a midnight sky. 


The Victorians loved symbolism, and this ring is no exception: twin opals facing one another evoke harmony, duality, and union, like a meeting of kindred spirits, while the diamonds between them may be placed as symbols of eternity; stars that will never burn out.
