A striking late 19th-century amethyst and pearl ring, its circular-cut amethyst glowing at the centre like a drop of purple twilight. On either side, soft pearls lend a moonlit radiance, their lustre balancing the jewel’s bright violet heart.


The openwork shoulders, twisting in delicate coils of 18ct gold, give the ring a sense of movement, as though it were spun from strands of sunlight or woven by some small, deft hand in a storybook wood.
