1857 Victorian Diamond & Pearl Lattice Ring
£885.00

An exquisite 18ct gold diamond and pearl lattice ring, hallmarked Birmingham 1857. The distinctive geometric arrangement of old cut diamonds and luminous pearls creates a shape that quietly draws the eye in to its intricate design.

At its heart, the lattice of sparkling old cut diamonds forms a graceful lozenge motif, framed by soft, glowing pearls that seem almost like tiny moons suspended in gold. The contrast between the diamonds' gentle candlelit brilliance and the pearls' lustre gives the ring a harmony that is unmistakably antique, yet timeless in its beauty. Reminiscent of a quilted lattice or embroidered ribbon worked in gold,  it is surely a thoughtfully designed heirloom, carefully chosen for its unique beauty, perhaps made to mark a moment that mattered very much to the wearer.

1857 marks the year The Professor by Charlotte Brontë was published, as well as the infamous Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert. Over 165 years after it was hallmarked, this remarkable ring continues to embody the romance of the Victorian era; a small work of art carrying light, memory, and love upon the hand.

“How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.”
