A delightful mid-century 9ct gold signet ring, hallmarked Birmingham, 1948. The ring features a beautifully proportioned octagonal head, engraved with an elegant, flowing letter “S”. Broad flared shoulders taper into a classic straight D profile band, giving the ring a strong yet wonderfully wearable silhouette.


There is something particularly charming about an old signet ring. Traditionally worn as a deeply personal piece of jewellery, signet rings have long represented identity, family and belonging, often becoming treasured pieces passed from one generation to the next.


We especially love the character that has developed across the gold over nearly eighty years. The softly worn surface and traces of its previous life give it a warmth that simply cannot be recreated in a newly made ring.
