1864 Victorian Turquoise & Pearl Ring

Crafted in luminous 15ct yellow gold, this Victorian pearl and turquoise dress ring hails from an era of ink-blotted letters, pressed flowers, and earnest romance. It bears a Birmingham 1864 hallmark, making it an intimate heirloom from a time when sentiment was stitched into every treasure; the same era Louisa May Alcott set her novel Little Women. 


Across the surface of the ring, three gemstones bloom: a central half-pearl glimmering like a winter moon, offset by polished turquoise cabochons in tender shades of robin-egg blue. Scrollwork to the setting adds a touch of 19th-century romance,  and the delightful contrast of iridescent pearl against gleaming turquoise evokes hope, devotion, and quiet constancy. 


Turquoise, beloved by the Victorians as a talisman of protection and affection, was often gifted to safeguard the wearer, especially in times of emotional longing or travel. Paired with pearls, (symbols of purity and truth), it becomes not simply a ring, but a promise in miniature.
