Edwardian Topaz & Diamond Ring

This enchanting Edwardian ring centres on a magnificent octagonal step cut topaz, its beautifully faceted surface glowing with the warm golden tones of honey, amber and autumn sunlight. There is something wonderfully seasonal about its colour, reminiscent of pumpkin spice, fallen leaves and the golden light of an October afternoon.

The topaz rests within an elegant pierced claw setting, its delicate 18ct white gold scrolling gallery allowing light to enter the stone from every angle. To either side, graduated single cut diamonds shimmer along finely millegrained shoulders, bringing a crisp touch of brilliance against the rich warmth of the central gemstone. Such delicate millegrain and pierced work became particularly characteristic of Edwardian jewellery, when advances in platinum jewellery allowed settings to become increasingly light, intricate and lace like.
