Edwardian Diamond Turquoise & Pearl Pendant
A stunning antique Edwardian 14ct yellow gold turquoise, pearl, and diamond floral pendant.
This statement piece features five turquoise stones of electric blue, with sixteen graduated seed pearls forming the petals of a blooming central flower. At the heart of the pendant, a central old cut diamond sparkles like a star. This unique pendant is a sumptuous statement of elegance and truly delightful craftsmanship from days gone by. Combining the colours of lustrous white pearls and the sky-blue of turquoise was a popular choice in antique jewellery, reminiscent of clouds in the sky, or white waves in a blue sea.
Turquoise has been worn across the centuries as a protective amulet, and is also the birthstone of December.
“Silently, one by one, in the infinite meadows of heaven, Blossomed the lovely stars, the forget-me-nots of the angels.”
~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Evangeline: A Tale of Acadie
