This exquisite Victorian ring, hallmarked in Birmingham in 1855, carries the romance of a tearoom laden with confectionary, pink taffeta, and soft-spun silk.

 

Crafted in 12ct yellow gold, the band sweeps gently toward an ornate oval centrepiece crowned by two luminous pearls and twin pink paste stones. Each gem holds its own character: one a blushed rose, the other a deeper sugared-raspberry, lending the ring the deliberate, dreamy asymmetry of a wild rose garden. The stones are collet-set, their smooth surfaces glowing like glazed sweets, evoking the charm of Victorian delights: raspberry drops, rose-fondant bonbons, and sugared Turkish delight arranged on gilded trays to be savoured after dancing. The shoulders bloom outward in delicate openwork, curling into foliate scrolls, reminiscent of climbing vines.
